My Paper Presentation at Malaysia-Glasgow Doctoral Colloquium, Date: January 20-21 January, 2010. Venue: Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), Glasgow, Scotland. Supported by University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University.
3 hours traveling by train from Durham to Glasgow. It’s quite tricky to read and understand the instruction from the electronic board at the railway station and to get the right train since it was my first experience with the UK train.
It’s very late, almost midnight. That’s why nobody inside the train. Hmm.. all seats are mine.
Welcome to the world of academic conference! This doctoral colloquium is a good start. Don’t feel awkward! Just relax and enjoy it. Here are the tips, dress comfortably but smart, focus on your presentation, don’t freak out about your paper / presentation but do believe in yourselves.
My presentation was chaired by Dr Mahdi Zahraa, Director of Postgraduate Research Studies Programme, Division of Law, Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland. The topic was “Legal Ruses in Islamic Banking”.
